Oisin Roofing & Guttering has its Rathcoole base on Main Street, so this is one of the two areas where we can honestly say we are around the corner. Rathcoole and Saggart have grown from two villages on the N7 into busy commuter towns. The housing is a mix: older houses in the village centres, 1970s and 1980s bungalows and semis on the roads out, and the large estates built around both villages and Citywest since the 2000s. The older houses have tired slates and tiles, leaky chimney lead and cast-iron gutters. The 1980s houses have cracked interlocking tiles and rotten fascias. The newer estates are mostly sound but suffer from rushed lead around roof windows, gutters blocked after a few years without cleaning, and the first slipped tiles after a hard winter.
What we do most locally
Because we are so close, we take on small jobs here that would not justify a long trip elsewhere: a single slipped tile, a blocked downpipe, a leaking valley after a storm. Repairs and gutter cleaning are usually done in a single visit. Fascia, soffit and gutter replacement on the 1980s semis fixes the rot and the overflow at the same time. We also do new roofs on the older village houses and on self-builds out towards Brittas and Newcastle, in tile or slate to suit the house, and every job is priced after a free on-site check, with the price agreed before any work starts.
